Meet the 25 scaleup finalists in this year’s EIT Digital Challenge - Tech.eu
Later this month, 25 deep tech scaleups from nine European countries will compete in the EIT Digital Challenge 2017 to lead Europe’s digital transformation.
The promising finalists were chosen out of 136 applicants to compete at five final pitch events in November and December in Eindhoven, Berlin, Budapest, Madrid, and Trento. The 25 companies are broken down into five different categories with the best entrant from each event winning a €100,000 prize package to help them internationalise, including a full year’s support from the EIT Digital Accelerator worth €50,000 and a €50,000 cash prize.
The EIT Digital Challenge sought out the most pioneering digital deep technology companies to drive Europe’s digital transformation. The finalists run a wide gamut of innovations from healthy living to better city planning to fintech. Some of these innovations include a device that manages and automates your parking fees, wearables for the elderly and people with disabilities, and tools for ensuring you don’t send emails to the wrong person.
These companies have moved beyond their nascent startup days and have exhibited serious potential to make a mark internationally. The have raised €3 million in funding, on average, with estimated revenues for this year of €1.7 million.
